Welcome to MicStar. We deeply respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information Collection and Local Storage
Our core philosophy is that your emotions and thoughts belong only to you.
- No Account Required: You can use MicStar without creating an account. We do not require your email address, phone number, or real name.
- Local Storage First: All your chat history, mood logs, journal entries, and personal settings are stored strictly locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or back up this personal data to our servers.
2. How We Use Third-Party Services (AI Processing & Safety)
To provide you with real-time, empathetic AI companionship, the messages you send are processed by our third-party AI service providers (e.g., Google Gemini API).
- Anonymization: Data sent to the AI is anonymized and cannot be linked to your identity.
- Content Safety: We strictly prohibit and filter the generation of sexually explicit content, extreme violence, hate speech, or illegal activities. Our AI service includes built-in safety filters to ensure a supportive and healthy environment.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We respect your privacy as our top priority. MicStar does not sell, rent, or share your personal data—including your chat history, voice recordings, or photos—to any third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing companies.
4. Device Permissions
- Microphone: Required only for voice messages.
- Camera & Photo Library: Required only for profile pictures or AI interaction.
5. Data Security
Since your highly sensitive data remains on your device, its security relies on your device's operating system. If you uninstall the app, your local data will be permanently deleted.
6. Data Deletion Request
We provide a transparent way for you to manage your data:
- In-App Deletion: You can clear all chat history and local data at any time by uninstalling the app or using the "Clear Cache/Data" function in your device settings.
- Manual Request: Although we do not store your personal data on our servers, if you have concerns or wish to verify if any associated anonymous device IDs have been processed, you may contact us at ethanlongworkroot@gomicstar.com. We will process your request to delete any associated data within 7 business days.
7. Children's Privacy
MicStar is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Due to the nature of Generative AI, we restrict our target audience to adults to ensure a safe user experience.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the new version on this page.
