Welcome to WeStar. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we handle account services, AI chat, voice synthesis, and avatar generation.
1. Account Registration and Information Collection
To provide a consistent experience across devices, WeStar offers account-based services.
- Account Information: When you register, we collect essential account data such as your email address and username. This data is used only for authentication, account management, and account security.
- Data Transmission: Personal data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.
- Personal Content: While your account details are stored securely on our servers, highly personal content may continue to prioritize local or limited processing where applicable.
2. Third-Party AI Processing, Voice Synthesis, and Face Data Safety
To provide real-time AI companionship, voice synthesis, and artistic avatar features, WeStar uses third-party AI service providers, including Minimax and Volcengine.
- AI Chat Processing: Your messages are encrypted and sent to Minimax and/or Volcengine to generate real-time AI responses. We do not link this content to your identity for advertising purposes.
- Voice Synthesis: When you play an AI voice reply or enable automatic read-aloud, the text of the AI response may be sent to Minimax and/or Volcengine solely to generate audio playback.
- Avatar Generation: When you use avatar generation features, photos or prompts you provide may be processed by Minimax and/or Volcengine solely to generate the requested avatar or artistic result.
- Retention: Chat contexts are processed in-memory within our systems and are not used to build advertising or marketing profiles.
- Face Data Handling: We do not collect, store, or share biometric data or facial geometry. Photos used for avatar generation are processed strictly in-memory and are deleted immediately after processing.
- Safety Filters: We apply safety measures to reduce abusive or inappropriate content generation.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
WeStar does not sell, rent, or share your personal data—including your email address, chat content, or photos—with third-party advertising networks or marketing companies.
- We may share limited data with service providers only when necessary to operate core features such as authentication, AI response generation, voice synthesis, avatar generation, and infrastructure support.
- Such service providers are required to process data only for the purposes of providing services to WeStar.
4. Device Permissions and Consent
- Just-in-Time Consent: We ask for permission before accessing features such as your Microphone, Camera, or Photo Library.
- User Control: You can manage many feature preferences, such as voice playback behavior, from within the app.
- Accessibility: We aim to make WeStar accessible to all users, including those using screen readers such as TalkBack and VoiceOver.
5. Account Deletion and Data Retention
In compliance with platform policies, you have control over your data.
- Account Deletion Request: If you want to permanently delete your account and associated server-side data, please email us at ethanlongworkroot@gomicstar.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request”.
- Processing Time: We will verify your request and complete deletion within 7 business days.
- Local Data: Some locally stored data can also be removed by clearing app data on your device or uninstalling the app.
6. Children's Privacy
WeStar is not intended for children under the age of 18. We restrict our audience to adults to support a safer AI-driven experience.
